Is it a standard pratice that Sim lim com shops

I brought a casing from one of the shop
So when i brouhgt it back home
to fix up my pc .. then the fan was not spinning
so i wonder is there any problem with the Power
supply unit in the casing?
THen i call up the shop .. the guy told me this
you bring your pc down to the shop
if the problem lies in the power unit in the casing
we change for you
however if the problem dun lies in the power unit
we going to charge you $30
so i wonder is this the normal practice for all shops
in Sim lim

it's a service, so its kinda fair they charge you for it.

u should test it out for urself. u need ur power supply to be connected to the motherboard, and the fan connected to the motherboard. then power up ur motherboard and ur fan should be spinning.
try it out urself before spending 30 bucks for nothing. -
Most of the time, it's not PSU. It's the way people do things. That's why they say if it's not the PSU problem, they are going to charge you, for making their blood pressure go up.
I don't know how many times I meet such people already, I feel like strangling them.
But if it's the PSU problem, it's a faulty unit. You are just too suay. They will give you a brand new one and fix for you. Some will charge, some will not. Depends on who you bring to. -
Dun they have at least 7days warranty for most of the DIY parts?

so before buy anything better do homework lor

Not all shops. Some shops don't, especially if you buy straight from distributors or wholesalers.
Most retailers will offer it.
But if you bring a properly working PSU and say it's not working, they test it and it's working, you are going to pay $30, no matter what. -

Fuwell has a 7-day exchange policy if parts are really faulty. They will also try to fix problems for you. One of the best I will say. -
agree, best is to chk wif different shops. once i went down to test my MB, a few shops charge $20 - $30, but one of the shop tested my MB FOC.

you buy there,anything happens,you are supposed to check and find out what is wrong cos the warranty given is for the individual items leh not for the whole com,you ask them to check if found that it is not because of that item that they are responsible for (waranty under them) of course they will charge you.
If not,die lor anyone com faulty then just bring down to shop ask them check.They where got so free.......
Btw you brought the casing from them,did it come with a power supply as well or your power supply brought from elsewhere one? -

so luckily i never brought it down
or else i pay 30 for nothing hahah -
