could be... but then they have been operating for so long, it is possible that they have built up a stockpile by now...Originally posted by Kuali Baba:Smells like an urban legend.
I think a lot of suicide in Singapore itself never gets reported. According to World health organisation (WHO) report here: http://www.who.int/mental_health/media/sing.pdfOriginally posted by mancha:I don't think so many commit suicide. Where is the news?
What is possible is that the passports have been put there so that the ship's tangkee can pray for the PP holders to win, for a fee, of course. Maybe the service is free. Go check it out.
your boyfriend? I hope that he did not inherit the predisposition to gambling addiction from them... it is no joke. Those seriously addicted cannot stop and will even steal money from their work place after they have run out of money. That is after they have borrowed from everyone they know and from the banks...Originally posted by TXian:![]()

Hand to whom? The ship might be in Indonesian waters but gambling is illegal in Indonesia so everyone simply pretends that it is in International waters. There are also no evidence of death or suicide. Unless the body surface somewhere and those that discover it launch an investigation.Originally posted by DarthBart:Don't think the ship's management can keep the passports...
Those are restricted documents I think...
Like how you have hand over your IC when you decide to sell salted duck eggs
thanks...i am actually rather against it but they not my parents I also cannot say anything...I have spoken about it to him before...currently, he's only into small bets at Singapore Pools...I think it takes two hands to clap...I can only advise and set as a role model against gambling...Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:your boyfriend? Just tell him that as long as he gambles with money he can afford to throw away, it is OK but the problem is, all problem gamblers started small before they became addicted.
I can't say that he will become addicted but he is taking a dangerous path and he must be fully aware of ALL the dangers. The clincher might be the opening of the casino because the casino is like the crack cocaine of drugs... highly addictive.
Just make sure that you do not give him or lend him any money whatever the reason he gives because you can never trust a gambler. (Never ever trust your in-laws with money no matter what reasons they give.)
Make sure you ask him to give you the money for the wedding now and save it beyond his reach like a joint account requiring two names to make withdrawals, if you intend to marry.
After you are married, make sure you get him to pay for the household expenses.
Never ever allow him to use your name to borrow money other than for housing or car. Never ever let him use your name to borrow CASH and credit cards.
Of course after he pays for the household expenses, whatever he does with his money, even if it is for gambling, is his own business.
If you can do that, then your chance of getting married to him is higher and being married till old is better. If you think, "trust the one you intend to marry or marry someone else is bullsh*t." You need to make every marriage work; it does not go on automatic.
Give him money and you will be doomed and your marriage doomed if he uses it for gambling. In gambling winning is useless because it is always only temporary. Gamblers also always lie and say that they are winning or have won even when they have lost and are losing badly.
So think of this as saving your marriage.

I had seen a lot of gamblers during my young age at Beach road, a cinema manager who earned good salary jumped down from cathay bldg, and a lot of sailors who came back from overseas lost their pants when gambling at association.
I can give u a lot of stories about these gamblers'behaviour which u cant find in the books and anyway else!!!!
The boss of the dens always say not afraid of u 2 win now just worry that u dont come back tomorrow!!!
Pls dont gamble u can throw yr life away ++++++++
However,if u drink like me,the most ,S$100 per day can knock u down oreli!!!
Hence,be a drinker than a gambler!!!!![]()

after writing u r gonna publish it? then sell online or what?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:I am writing a book on casino gambling and as part of my research I visited the gambling casino cruise ship a few days ago.
On the way back in the ferry, I heard a woman talking loudly about a room at the back of the dining hall with a lot of passports...
Presumably the passports holders jumped overboard and killed themselves... after losing money at the casino.
The ship operators line their passports in the room like those tablets of dead people you see at temples and offer food to them.
She was saying that people should not eat Chicken and Ducks or Sio Bark at the dining hall because the ship might have offered it to these passports first.
scary sia? you think how true, this story?

haha, very soon you'll see the long term effects of drinking...you should see the pills my dad is popping...he is a habitual drinker...
I am also curious. I don't really know. I started this thread because of what I heard that woman said on the ferry said... if I get more info on this, I will share here.Originally posted by mancha:Sorry, Sorry, my maths screw up.
Anyway there are still missing person cases not solved.
Are they related to those, as you say suicide cases on cruise ships?
We would like more details on that since you aroused our curiosity.
