Why must have that? -
to make adjustments for the differences in time,
its more for countries with seasons; where days can be longer, nights shorter. -

Adjust the clock one hour forward in order to save energy during spring -

Here's how it works:
Direct from MSN
"when it comes to almost the end of winter
which is almost the start of summer
a designated day would be chosen
on that day, at 2am in the morning you move the clock one hour ahead, i.e 3am
you lose on hour
when autumn starts in march the next year
you choose a designated day again, and move back the clock at 2am
so u gain back one hour
in summer till spring, ie. nov till march
we have long days, sun sets at say 8, 9?
in winter we have short days
sun sets at say 4,5"
This is based on Australia but the concept is there

In US, it's to save energy and to make more trouble.
In UK, it's to make children wake up earlier to go schools. (This part quite untrue, UK scrapped it anyway)
In other countries, not sure. -

In Australia, daylight saving starts on the last Sunday morning of October (Spring) and finishes on the last Sunday morning of March (Autumn).
During Summer time, daylight is longer and having daylight saving (to move the time forward from 2am to 3am) provides a few benefits to the people. We can enjoy longer daylight after work, can do more outdoor activities in the nice warm weather and can also save electricity. In Summer, sun doesn't set until 8 or 9pm.
When Summer finishes, weather is getting cooler and daylight is getting shorter so we adjust the time backward from 2am to 1am. We just did that last Sunday which made us 2 hours ahead of Singapore now instead of 3 hours.

In the states, those place with winter will choose a date to adjust the original timing late by 1 hour. As some has say, according the ppl there its energy saving but very troublesome. This bcos some states without winter e,g arizona will still follow the original time. So after winter ends, (and of cos they decide when the winter end) they will annouce to the public that when r they going to increase 1hour back to the original timing. Hope this explains.

daylight savings is bullshit. during winter, night comes early, so u should set the time to go forward right? wrong, u set the time back 1 hour, so end up at 3 pm already night time. during summer u do opposite, so at 10pm still day time, so fuked up man ang mohs are so stupid

my curtains are not thick leh... 7am the sun shine bright bright oledi...
and i dont miss the warmth cos my mom sets the heater to30 degrees -
An extra hour of sleep in October and one less in March.
In winter, the sun's up only from 9.30 a.m to 3 p.m where I was.
