hm. smoke smoke lor. i oso smoke w/o letting my parents know. well actually they noe, just tat they nv see with their eyes u noe. so i can denied it. but my mum did sae occasionally nvm. cannot be addicted. but im been smoking for 5yrs plus. well. just dun smoke infront of them n make them sad. n try dun smoke so much.

The fact that smoking helps to 'relieve' stress means that you are already addicted to smoking to some degree.. I don't think I have any less problems than u (don't get me started), but the thought of smoking never even pop up before.
If i'm not wrong the reason why you get affected by stress so easily is at least partly due to smoking, subtle withdrawal symptoms are normally not so detectable, but once u r subject to stress, it makes it worse.
My dad was a smoker for almost 30 years and only gave up less than 10 years ago. Nowadays he tells me how much he regrets wasting much of his youth to smoking.. i.e., not eating well, bad temper, health problems and generally screwing it up unnecessarily. Now he is much healthier, enjoys life more and actually performs better at work + managing stress even tho he is much older.
Its ur choice whether u want to go down the same path. -

is this considered social or addictive..l really dun noe
cuz l say l am a social smoker..cuz when l am poor, dun hav the $, l can straight away stop de...will not crave to get the $ to pay another packet
Is only when l hav the $ , or when l see frenz got cigarettes, then sumtime will hav the temptation to ask for them a few stick to smoke..that is all
but everytime l smoke..l do feel good abt it... -

I'm not a smoker, but I've tried before. I used to totally rule myself out from it, but those last few days in camp before I ord, I somehow had the urge to just join my friends a few times for smoking breaks. Was thinking that it would be the only place and time to do it, so why not experience it for the first and last time haha before I returned to civilian world.
The numb and dizzy spell felt special, but I wasn't addicted la. My lao jiao friends were saying this was normal for starters, and for them they were immune to it. So I asked them why they still smoked since it was of no difference to them, they had no answer to it haha. Ok la these friends weren't actually influencing me, we reached a consensus that it'd just be an experience for me, and I got them to keep this to themselves. If this reached my family's or gf's ears, I surely hong kan lol.
So far so good, haven't entered any mama shop to buy any packet yet, haha. -
'Social' smoker friends have mostly become full time... altho for some it took many years, it sort of just happened, bit by bit. From that I guess (from a non-smoker POV) that 'social' smoking is often a 1st step to full blown addiction, but it also means you can still quit more easily. As far as I can see there is not such thing as remaining a 'social' smoker in the long run... either u decide to quit at some point or u start to spiral.. very very slowly. -
to a parent who cares and concerns about u, there is no age limit.
take the reverse approach lah. show them u're chewing on nico gums. then let them catch u smoking. -
