Its the 21st century. Why wont gangster/ahbeng/ahlian learn?

I was just wondering why wont gangsters learn?
Considering its already the 21st century.
I am not saying that its wrong to be one, but its clearly un benefitial for you to be one.
21st century liao, humans are supposed to be smart enough to see whats good and bad for them.
Why are there still people that rather go be ahbeng then study?
How come peer pressure can influence so much on them?

Aiya, if they noe ah bengs from 10 years ago, like in 1997-2000(cos tht time the gang still alot ma), then 10 years later in 2007, the ah bengs cannot get any jobs liao le.
So what happens now is this, in 21 century, the people might have knew ppl who are formerly ahbengs and get influenced, and they influence one another, so there seems to be gangs forming again.
Gangs actually originated from china, it is becos when they came to singapore in the olden days, some of them are actually bullied, so they form up few people and help one another, but they dun really fight.
In 1980s, salakau formed, and the fighters will tattoo themselves on the forehead, they will also tattoo a tear in their cheek, to mean no more tears to cry. Ang soon tong can be found in the central part of singapore.

Gangsters doesn't have a life, that's why they are gangsters. Since they dont have a life, they don't give a damn. Since they dont gives a damn, they worth just as much as a piece of crap in the society.
