Flag Day Tips...

Hi ppl, need some flag day 'tips'...
as in what should I say to get ppl donate?? I scare the way i saying a little 'demanding'. -
Say it with a smile. Be daring and thick-skinned and approach anybody and everybody.
That works when I was doing it like eh, 7 years ago? Good luck for trying it now. -
I have had two flag day experiences when I was in Secondary 1. The donants were mostly magnanimous towards their donations and many were real friendly. As for those who appear nonchalant or have no spare change, then let them slip. After all, it is only charity work. It defeats the purpose of charity and self-volunteerism towards donating should they be coerced to give to charity organisations.
I think there is a benchmark for the amount of money collected right? Usually, it is around $5. So I figure that should be easy. What counts is the thought and not the money. -

but now i would like like a phrase to get ppl to donate, cuz when u juz stand there, ppl won't donate, u must go up and ask...
"Hello Madam, can u plz donate for XXX organistion? thank you". -
Last time when I do flag day, no one donate. So I just can't be bothered with flag day ever since.

You can say,"Excuse me, would you mind donating to blahblahblah?"
Actually, you don't have to sound so fluent cuz most of the people will just be normal heartlanders like us. But make sure you do your "homework" by knowing the beneficiaries and all. The intention of this event, in case of any queries. The potential donants will thus not be clouded by a question of doubt. ^^

one big smile and its a law of averages. the more people you ask, the more likely u get to have people donating.
so ask more people. -
yesterday at tiong bahru plaza
i saw this guy smoking and asking for donation..
quite young boy....than he only target those school girls
dun seem like he is from a 'legal' association asking for donation
more like he pocket for himself -

flag day if its for cip, can heck care.

just ask "hi, would you like to donate to XYZ?"
if they donate, say "thank you".
if they dont donate, say "tamade...". opps i mean "thank you" too. -

Best is approach aunties.
And then camp at douby ghaut mrt.
If you gan gan go towards people and say.
Sir/Mdm/Auntie would you like to donate?
1hr the can full liao.
Then use nametag,pin,nail clipper to make a small dent at the opening of the hole.
Like one side of the opening higer then the other. About 5mm more can liao.
Then you turn the can upside down, take a plastic bag.
Tilt the can a little, let the coin slide out.
Shake all the money out and keep. But notes hard to get out. So ignore.
The coins alone at least $50. Swear.
When you return take the stickers to paste all over the coin opening then less obvious.
Some of my friends do this get like $50~$70. All go carl's jr eat after that.

Then will shake the coin then they will rate you 1,2,3,4.
4 being the most. Even if you get 1 also nvm one. -
yeah nowadays they rating u le...
the last flag day i went seemed to be organised by the 'foreign talents' all ang mos one....so slow take the tin.
btw i want to get at least a 2

i remember i was pretty hardworking during my first flag day. managed to persuade one lady to donate $10. felt a big sense of accomplishment?
