Physics principles need in building a tower...HELP NEEDED...

What are the some of the physics principle/laws one needs when building a tower. Please simply shoot the law/principle name. i can do the googling.

U what level?....mi not pro enuf to answer those precise engineering stuff la...
Basically the type of soil lo and also what kind of natural disaster could be possible lo....If got earth quake u gotta use many diff kinda materials to prevent the building from breaking down due to resonance...
Also laser is needed to ensure the tower u build is not slanted.... -
I tink if u sec sch or jc...is enuff to say laser is needed to ensure the tower build is not slanted....because if u use any plumb line,
( from wiki defn..Originally, a plumb line, plumb-line, or plumbline was a string with a lead (Latin plumbum) weight called a plumb-bob at one end, used to provide a vertical reference line. )
due to centrifugal force of earth rotation, the plumb line is slanted as well, hence the plump line cannot be used as a vertical reference line. -

Very elementary one.
Eg: theres the Traiangle law thingy(dont know what you call it) that says triangles are strong...etc..

i think the triangular thingy u want is a TRUSS structure.
and also, u can try shear force and bending moment. these are the things u need to ensure stability in a truss. -
You need mechanical principles, not physics.

when i was in my first year where i did my common engineering in NTU,
there was a subject called "statics"
talks abt trusses and forces.. i believe this is helpful for u to build ur tower
adding on, i believe "dynamics" would also be helpful, and also "Mechanics of Materials" they usally call MOM.
i'm from electrical so i can't help u much.. but this is wad i can provide u.. -
