girls and tables

  just curious.....
  
  if you go for lunch / dinner / breakfast with a chio female friend (aquittance only, not close friend or girlfriend) in a coffee shop and the table is a sqaure table, with 2 seats on each side(total 4 seats), do you normally seat opposite her or seat next to her?

  if you go to a fine dining restaurant, then pull the chair for her lor
  
  but TS, is talking about coffeeshop and going out with a group of friends
  
  and unless you are going on a 1 on 1 date, then you can practise your gentleman skills lor,
  
  but the golden rule is always, wait for the lady to be seated, its very common sense, and its basic etiquette

  i'm asking about whether i should sit next to her or opposite her!
  
  also, coffee shop house and the hawker centers in SG.....look at them........their chairs are cemented to the floor, how to pull???!!!!!!!

  and please for goodness sake, you don't drag the chair......... you lift the chair, and then you pull, wah lau, this one, people have to explain in so clearly, then you will understand, AH?
  
  hello, use some common sense lah, if you are in a coffeeshop, if you pull the chair ,obviously, you might gather a few looks,
  
  just be practical, really depends on the location,
  
  please lei, TS, go and borrow the DVD, pride and prejudice, if you want to learn more about etiquette,
  
  just be practical, lah, if you want to sit next to a lady, fine, then how about think about this way, sitting opposite her, is easier to talk to her, OR sitting next to her is easier to talk to her, imagine she has to turn her head, just to talk to you....
  
  at least use some practical sense lah, nobody need to teach you anything at all

  I always seat opposite my friend, regardless girl or boy, so its easier to talk and look at each other when talking to see whats their reaction? Then apply different tactics for different face reaction. If the face look sian, then time to change topic lo...
  
  Unless its a group of friends, then anyhow seat lor.

  people will call u a weirdo if u actually pull a chair for her to seat in a hawker center/ food court or even in a fastfood chain

  In a restaurant, let her have the seat that is facin people (not the wall), the better view that is. If she goes to the washroom/returns, you stand up
  
  nvm bout whether if you sit beside her she will think your tryin to woo her or what, dont think too much ok. But shld be sit opposite her
