any forumer was adopted, has adopted, or are planning to adopt ? ...
what about surrogate mothers then ? ... at least the child will contain one half of the couple's genes eh ? .... -
Surrogate mother borned kids can have the genes of both parents too.

Or do what our olden days chinese females has done.
Wife make hubby sleeps with mistress, produce children. Children grows up calling Wife Big Mother and their own mother Small Mother.
Those days, got Wife force away birth mother and claim child as her own.
Example drama stories: Wife wants children, comes with agreement with Birth mother to buy Child straight off the Birth Mother.
To the wife, she is adopting. To the husband, its still his child. To the birth mother, she gets some money to further her life and drama drama later to reclaim her child stories.

surrogate mother or not.
a child fares better with breast milk. adoptive mother cant supply. only the birth mother does.
if this is to be done, you have to consider at least a 2 year commitment financially for the surrogate mother. -
