Distance Learning Degree

  Hello all,
  
  I am just unsure about some distance learning thing. I was told by my friend that with distance learning by some private institution, the degree cert will be written as Distance learning degree, and it is different from the degree we got study on-campus overseas.
  
  Is this true? I need to get this off my chest, thanks.
