Sometimes me feel kind of yucks when watch mediacorpse production, that's y now most of the time I watch cable!!! !) There is not a free market for tv station so its not up to standard.
2) The law and government too restrictive on medias.
3) Singaporeans are robots and not creative enough.

If you notice, most of the time mediacorpse copies overseas programmes. Taiwan is their "victim". Classic, they even copied names of characters, dumb or purely lack of brain or creativity huh?
Long time ago, I already give up on mediacorpse liao!!

Taiwan soap operas are also hyper formulaic, same actors playing same roles.

all the shows around the world have predictable endings too. korean, jap, chinese, taiwan, hollywood, english.
dunno about indian, but i assume the same -
we feel that it is bullcrap is all because it has always been like this, and it doesn't change, so we will feel sian...
if foreigners are to see our dramas.. they will like it... but after a while.. the passion go away.. feel sian.. after even more time.. ppl will insult it...
but also maybe because no competition... -
one thing i realise mediacorp is getting lame... esp they always like to use english pop songs for sneak peak previews for their ch 8 dramas...
i am wondering, since each drama has their own theme songs, why not promote them instead? gone are the days drama songs are catchy among family household?

becos of all the boring and annoying shows i seldom watch tv now...
about the eng pop songs, i hope they put the name and singer of the the song at the bottom, cos some i really like it, and some are pretty old

when will mediacocp produce better show and when will they produce light hearted/comedy shows? all the shows nowadays are those serious, sad shows.

Me think those scriptwriters from Mediacorpse should stick around this forum more to get ideas for their next script. Lots of new dramas unfolding here each day.

Mediacorp dramas like books printed wrongly. Last page printed to the first. You glance at it you know the ending liao.
Variety shows only know how to copy others.(Mostly Taiwan). Yet nv do a good job at copying.
Their solution to the problem is not put in more effort, but just import overseas shows. End up now I only watch mediacorp channels for foreign imported shows.
Then found out some is not up to date too. So no choice, subscribe many scv channels. Now helping starhub monopoly... -
last time when channel U was channel U, there were pretty good dramas.......
seriously, competition brings about better productions and quality...... -

i predict, with the foreigners swarming in, by 15 years time, mediacorp will be overruled by another tv station in singapore, opened by foreigners.

cuz nowadays the content of the shows must be 100% decent + no sex related scenes.. no over violent scenes and blah blah blah .. if not parents will complain that 'u are teaching my child the wrong way' all that stuff.. mediacrop must be very selective in the storyline hence most of them are so predictable..

I think it's because it's government/ government-linked company.
I think if it is purely private company, there will be more creativity and more interesting shows.
All government tv stations in the whole world are boring. MediaCorp is not different I believe.
