Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:In all my years living in Singapore (which is a lot I can assure you), I have NEVER seen a drunk Singaporean. Even from midnight to around 5 in the morning around areas heavily populated by nightclubs and bars the only drunk people I've ever seen are foreigners. You don't even see homeless drunk people anywhere. What's even more puzzling is that from 11-past midnight on NEW YEARS' EVE there was not a SINGLE drunk person on the streets, the area around the fireworks display were completely drunk personless. In any other country on New Year's Eve there would be almost hundreds of people stumbling down roads, hundreds upon hundreds of bottles of alcohol lying on the streets and just pretty much everyone being loud and causing minor, and sometimes major, havoc. I know I've posted many of these type of threads asking why Singapore is different but it seems to me that every aspect of Singapore seems to be toned down, even the general size. Once again any comments, ideas or reasons why there aren't any drunks in Singapore please let me know.
eh... what is what... none or little... u talk things in front behind mao tun leh...Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:Ok that's weird...well maybe around the clubs you go to wherever the hell that is. And honestly I do think you're the blind one. Coz again if you could see you would've noticed in my earlier post that I said there were VERY LITTLE drunk people in Singapore COMPARED TO EVERY OTHER COUNTRY. Not none, LITTLE. Know the difference or should I give you a moment to flip through a dictionary? And have you ever seen drunk people on New Year's? or at a bar watching a soccer match? AGAIN ONLY AT CLUBS. And I haven't even seen any at clubs.

i tot taxis will be scared of sending drunkards? later vomit all over the taxi siahOriginally posted by storywolf:Well it is a combination of factors that give you that perception. 1st the Asia culture, which is very unlike the western side. In Asia, friends tends to go more out of way to take care each others. haha they carry alway or take with them their drunks .... unlike western, which they just dump or leave their drunk friends behind.
Next is the easy access to taxi and cheap fare, thus that make sending drunkards back home much easier. Do you notice the long queue of taxi waiting outside each water hole ?

That is totally untrue, most of my friends aren't Asian and they always take good care of me when im wasted.
