i was shortlisted by OCBC b4 w/o exp, but pay very miserable if its just as a teller. -
Most bank will take in diploma holder without experience but you won't be given an officer position. Most likely you will start as a normal clerk and then work your way up and do not expect a high starting salary too. It won't be peanuts but it will be enough for your daily expenses to tie you through the month.

hmmmmmm all.
i have friends working in HSBC/Citibank and they're holding some... positions which aren't the most junior... not sure what though
and UOB employs dip holders as associate officers.. who start as bank tellers but will eventually be put in the back office to do paperwork and authorize transactions. -

best get acca, cpa or some 1st class honours...
then u can fly..
but u can also work and study at the same time
then u fly even faster cause u old bird liao -

Of course, the answer to your question is position dependant.
What position in the bank are you even looking for? Teller? Financial planner?
There are few thousands of people who graduate with a bachelor in business with a major in banking or even double major in banking and econs.
How do you think a diploma fare in comparison with a degree?
Sad to say, the working society is very "paper" driven. Try to think from an employer's perspective and you will realise the need to constantly upgrade yourself.
Life is like swimming against a waterfal; you either give it your best, get out of the water into a comfortable position or you let yourself drown.
There is no remaining stagnant, when you find yourself not progressing - you're already falling behind.

Banks want ppl with experience de leh.. of cos not position like toilet cleaners la.. related to finance sector..
