mdis and other private institutions

  anyone here graduated with a diploma from mdis can tell me why their course duration as specified in their website needs only half a year to complete ?
  
  my friend hopes to persue a diploma in accounting and i did some reseach on his behalf and this is what i found out from mdis:
  
  Diploma in Accounting
  (Recognised by Edith Cowan University, WA)
  
  Structure & Duration
  
  Day Programme
  
  * Can be completed in 6.5 months
  * Total contact of 216 hours (36 hours per unit)
  
  Evening Programme
  
  * Can be completed in 12 months
  * Total contact of 216 hours (36 hours per unit)
  
  Course Curriculum
  # Principles of Production Management
  # Fundamentals of Information Technology
  # International Marketing
  # Organisation Behaviour
  # Business Accounting
  # Cost Accounting
  
  and their course modules throughout this entire duration are only 6 ?
  
  what about other private institutions which offer diploma in accounting ? which are the few that offers diplomas with higher recognition from overseas uni ?

  Maybe coz the contact hours of the day programme are double that in the evening? Say evening you do 3 hours max, day you do 6?

  i completed my diploma awarded by tp in 3 years time and these private institutions allow their students up to half a year ?

  Depends. The diplomas awarded by local polys are actually vocational diplomas while those offered by the private schools are academic.
  
  Simply put, local ones teach you how to do that job while the provate schools just certify that you have that sort of knowledge.

  yr fren ! same as me.. was tinking about going to mdis accounting too ! but if i go den i will be like alone.. abit lonely and blur . still tinking wad decision to make ..

  im thinking of going to MDIS but it do not offer the course im interested in.
  
  so i think i can only go to PSB.

  HR lor.
  coz MDIS do not offer dip. for HR, only degree. im not up to tat standard.
