Sheng Shiong is family owned supermarket.
started off as some HDB void deck provision shop at Blk 122 in AMK..
then the appetite grew and an adjacent shop was taken over and the provision shop expanded and so on and so for.
the original name is called Shing Shiong i think
for NTUC, some government initiative to provide affordable products -

shop n save was set up, probably to fight aganist NTUC.
but lose and now sold to the cold storage groups thingy. -

shop and save provides a better buying experience. sheng siong is cheapo and smelly to me. there was once i almost bought expired bread from there

shop and save have a better image and goods.but sheng shiong is damn cheap but the goods not stored in good conditions.ect dusty dirty and stuff.

Sheng Song sells cheap toilet papers,cheap fruits(Imagine they once sold $1 1 water melon),and now they are selling live prawns.Although they might have image problems but still attracts many people;i learnt that they engaged one new retail expert as manager recently,i can foresee their image will improve slowly.Imagine Sheng Song can survive in Ten Mile Junction shopping and Shop&Save cant.
