It would be useful actually.
Thinking that million tons of goods can traveled across the ocean in just barely less than 7 days as compared to 3 weeks on the ship.
The project was headed by the russian not the chinese. But its a smart move by the Russian to earn the Chinese and USA $$ They know that the millions of goods will use the tunnel than ship which save so much time.
