Start with the corners, or the parts that are hardest to iron, e.g. the collar otherwise you will crumple the ironed parts again while trying to straighten those corners.
Yup, apply starch before you start ironing, but make sure you don't apply too much, and apply it evenly. Remember to shake the can well.
Check your shirt label to see which iron setting is most suitable.
