the sad thing is that when girls are abused.... often the world knows about it...
but when if its guys who are abused they kept to themselves....
Studies shown that woman are more likely to fall into depression. But recent studies had shown that man are more able to hide they depression. So who knows the case of depression is actually the same between man and woman.
It's because of society prejudice when it comes to gender. Females are supposed to be the weaker and more abused gender so guys are going to feel so ashamed and embarrassed if they got abused by females instead.
Why would they want to report the abuses when most people are going to look at them as if they were wimps, failures and dumbdumbs who allowed themselves to be abused by women? And worse, they would most probably be laughed and jeered at. It's the complete opposite treatment of what a woman would get when faced with the same situation.
A man's ego and pride has already been hurt enough if he's abused by a woman... and the aftermath of the reporting is going to make it more hurting. So of course they would want to keep it to themselves.
Actually it's quite sad if you think about it.
