Someone may counter-punch your shin or ankle....Originally posted by kristovorus:if ur in taekwondo and sparring, nobody's going to catch ur leg. its not allowed. no grappling in taekwondo, feel safe to kick people. As for real life situations .. just imagine someone fighting u as u do ur pattern. The patterns in taekwondo are actually conceived as a combat simulation. For example, ur high block in yellow belt pattern is for blocking a person wielding a dagger from stabbing ur head. green belt's knife hand block is for blocking a punch aimed at your mid section. bla bla bla.. if ur well versed in ur patterns when u fight you'd be subconciously using it in ur fight. thats the basic of all martial arts.. imprint the self defense techniques into your subconscious so that u use it without thinking. then when ur actually fighting u'll be on autopilot.. not much time to think during fighting.
as for the actual question of him grabbing ur leg.. i think u better kick him and just fall down. A professional would just grab ur leg, twist it before u can react and you'll fall down anyway. if got chance just kick him with ur other leg at least he wouldnt get the chance to fracture ur hip. If i got the leg.. hehe.. i think i'll stomp on ur other leg, use both hand to twist the leg im holding . u'll get a fracture

I guess it all depends. If the attacker holds on to your leg just to de-stabilize you, just turn around and whack using your hands. If the attacker's aim is to get you to the ground or fracture your leg, you just have to wish for the best...Originally posted by kristovorus:if ur in taekwondo and sparring, nobody's going to catch ur leg. its not allowed. no grappling in taekwondo, feel safe to kick people.
