black hawk down (2001 movie) really happen in 1993?

the mission on October 3, 1993, where close to everything goes wrong. The mission seems not that hard, about to take half an hour. Things start going wrong when a Black Hawk helicopter is shot down the real trouble begins. Since no man will be left behind the mission has to change into a rescue mission. Another Black Hawk goes down and hell breaks loose. The half hour mission becomes an entire day disaster with lots of casualties.
Ultimately, one hundred-and-twenty-three U.S. troops were involved in the Mogadishu conflict. Nineteen were killed, and one thousand Somalis also perished. -
