Its like army. There are 2 paths, the officer path and the specialist path.
Management trainee is the officer path. In time, you will be promoted to trainee bank officer, senior officer, assistant manager, assist vice president, assistant vice presedent head, vice president, senior vice president, executive vice president.
Basically assistant manager is muchiam our army's LTA. There arr many many in a bank. AVP is also a relatively common position.
For the specialist path, their positions ends with a "clerk" at then end. Example like Clerk 1, clerk 2, graded clerk, special graded clerk, etc.
If you were to apply into the "officer path", you;re generally start from trainee bank officer (TBO). TBO to senior officer (SO) usually takes 1 year. Then from SO to AM can be 2-5 years depending.
Management trainee are special positions that rotates you in different depts of a bank to understand the overall structure. You may spend 6 months in business credit, 6 months in consumer unsecured credit, 6 mths in customer assurance, 6 mths in treasure, corporate finance, etc. These people are usually the "high flyers".
but wat abt non banks? wat do management trainee do there?
