SINGAPORE: MediaCorp actor Christopher Lee has been sentenced to four weeks in jail on charges relating to drink driving.
He has also been fined S$4,500 and is disqualified from driving for three years.
Lee arrived in court Thursday morning, accompanied by his lawyer and manager.
His offences include causing injury to a motorcyclist and his pillion rider, in a hit-and-run accident.
In passing his sentence, the judge said Lee knew he had caused an accident and could not be excused from failing to stop and check.
Breathalyser tests showed Lee's body contained twice the legal alcohol limit.
Lee had given over S$70,000 in compensation to the victims for their injuries, which the judge noted as "evidence of his remorse".
The Judge said given the recent spate of drink driving accidents, a message must be sent to the public that "such risks are not acceptable and will continue to be sternly treated".
Lee will be appealing against the jail term, and is currently out on S$20,000 bail.
When contacted, MediaCorp Studios said it is inappropriate to comment at this time as Lee is appealing against the sentence. - CNA/ir/yy -

he very suay if any sentence of more than a month will have a 10 days reduction per month meaning 30 days sentence,20 days can come out already.
but now sentence 4 week meaning he have to serve the full 28 days cause less than 1 month -
serves him right. 70k leh. although remorseful, but is proof of his guilt

Might be sentence lighter if the person who knock down by him dont wish to sue him and forgive him..and he already paid for the damages..
Seriously you all cant blame him..Lets say i Give you a example you accident kill someone will you run.?When you done it your Mind is different from the normal people..
You all Just know how to say But when it happens put yourself in his shoes..He knock down somebody he will get scare +he is drunk so he cant think like a normal person..So you all cant judge him like that..If it was me 80% i will run because that is human reaction when something big happens you try to escape..
Please Think dont say until People is that Bad Everyone should be given a chance ...But Punishment should be there but for actor like him maybe 4weeks is abit long.. -

your basic human instinct will tell you to help the person
