TV actor Christopher Lee jailed for drink-driving

I think most ppl forgot a thing...., I think he ran away from the scene becoz :
1) he knows it's an offence and he will be fined and most probably lose his licence for drink driving and wif injury involved there's no way in hell he's gonna be let off wif juz a fine so choice he made :- drive off and leave the injured to their own devices.
2) being a public figure, he'll face more publicity than the general public and he's afraid of being shamed.
And of coz, there's the fear of being dumped by her well known GF who to-date maintain that she'd stand by her man (grief, how many real ladies are there out there who would standby a jailbird ?? Many if u r not Faxx but her ??? Laides & Gentlemen cast yr ballots.....
looks like she's in the running for best comedy actress in the coming polls

There's a diff between killing a person and running from a hit & run case and that is the knowledge of paying the price of facing the gallows when you are caught for the former and getting off scot free for the other coz u can always find a scrapegoat if u r not caught red handed. -

Nah.... mediacorp forum...., i would rather donate my 2 cents worth to charity....., few artist to-date have earned my real admiration.... Xiang Yun, Gurmit, Weng QingHai and a few others that are really good and experienced artists..., the rest well all i can say is i would rather be watching TVB serials .
Juz count the number of artists that the Coy has bailed out in the last few years and try to recall if any of the earlier artists have ever got themselves into the same kind of crap ?? Goes to show that juz becoz the Coy nurture them into wat they are today, they think it gives them the rite to be prima donnas and do wat they want so long as they're not caught in the act...sigh..., well wat goes ard comes ard. -

Worst of all, was the fact that he RAN AWAY cowardly!
He should quit and fly to another country to restart his life... -

All these mini-screen stars think they will get away with just a fine. They think that their celebrity status will convince the judge to be lenient with their crimes. They have forgotten that they have committed the crimes in the wrong country - S'pore.
Media Corpse might as well make a movie on how they spend their time behind bars. The jail sentence will teach them to be more responsible and humble.
Paying up heavy fine is not a problem. But serving their time in jail is a huge loss of face. -

Juz find the local chinese papers funny...., once the case is thrown in the limelight, u get reports of her gf winning awards in China for god know being placed among the top actress and wat not and about their relationship solid as a rock almost to the state of marriage, grief, they really belong to the N.A.T.O group >>> No Action Talk Only.... U mean to say marriage so soild becoz of the present case have to be delayed??
And his fellow colleagues and Coy said he did a lot of charity thru the years???? u mean he went to many organisations to do charity on his own accord own and not on Coy Orders?? We'd be interested in knowing which welfare organisation we support ppl who have a heart of gold, but does knocking someone down, stopping meters away and speeding off count??
alas i forgot the papers are an extended arm of mediacorp....., juz wondering if they're hyping it all up to drum support for the dumb-as* who hit and run. I think they would have better luck running a spread in the Stratis Times and poll the common people in the streets and not those linked to the one involved. As we have learnt thru life experiences, sometimes there are no ifs and buts but u juz gotta take the bullet in the head and face the consequences for such a cowardly act.
And the worst part is to appeal for something u did so wrong rite from the start as the trial judge had said running away was a Choice he took thinking to shun his responsibilites for such a lowly act. Anyway the appeal i feel would be a test of our justice system as if it were to be under the hammer of our last CJ, CJ Yong P H , u can expect no less than an increase in the jail sentence if u were found wanting for the offence and he's proven that he can extend a sentence if the case warrants it, his track record of appeal hearings speaks for itself but for the present the outcome is still an unknown factor......, would justice prevail or otherwise we await with battered breath.... -

Celebrity or not, he should face the consequences.
We should not applaud him for being brave enough to go into jail. That's what all of us SHOULD do and people like Paris Hilton, who actually start a petition hoping that all her fans would help her so that they can convince Arnold to not let her go to the jail is just....disgusting, the behavior is disgusting... -

TV actor Christopher Lee to spend more time in jail
SINGAPORE: MediaCorp actor Christopher Lee, who is currently in jail for causing an accident, will be spending more time in prison.
This came after the prosecution succeeded in appealing against his four-week sentence, which was meted out on 10 May.
At the end of the appeal hearing on Friday, the court decided to overturn an earlier sentence of a S$3,000 fine for his drink-driving offence.
In its place, he was sentenced to two weeks in prison and disqualified from driving for three years.
The jail term will run consecutively with his initial four-week punishment, bringing the total imprisonment to six weeks.
The money he had earlier paid for the fine will be refunded.
Lee's friends attended the hearing and heard how he had caused serious injury to a pillion rider, who had a toe amputated.
In sentencing, Justice Lee Seiu Kin said he was not out to set a new sentencing benchmark.
But he observed that there was a trend recently to merely impose a fine for first-time offenders and this needed to be arrested.
The judge decided that the offence called for a custodial sentence as Lee's blood alcohol content was high and there was evidence to show he had poor control of the vehicle.
The hearing lasted for about three hours and Lee appeared calm and composed.
However, towards the end of the session, he looked stern and was a little fidgety.
Lee's brush with the law is unlikely to end here.
He faces another charge of failing to stop after causing an accident.
A pre-trial conference for that case has been set on 21 June.
