The weather this few days is very uncertain , with temperature rising to 33 degree ..

By now , you should know that aircon eats alot of energy , altho it is still energy saving . Therefore , if everyone were to on aircon at full blast , that will eat alot of energy from the power stations . The power stations in singapore burn fossil fuels (natural gas and oil ) . For those who study chemistry , you will know that combustion of fossil fuels creates water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) through complete combustion .
So when all of you on aircon at full blast , the power station will have to burn more fossil fuels to cope with that amount of energy used . Hence , when more fossil fuels are burnt , more carbon dioxide are released . When more carbon dioxide are released , the earth gets warmer ( carbon dioxide is a green house gas, gases that traps heat inside the earth .)
Haha ... hope that is a clear elaboration on how using aircon at full blast affects the earth temperature .
Anyway FYI , CFC , or chlorofluorocarbon , makes a hole in the earth's ozone layer . If the ozone layer has a hole, we live under the threat of getting skin cancer due to the sun's UV rays . The ozone layer is there to shield us from the harnful UV rays emitted by the sun . The UV rays can cause skin cancer and cataract ( an eye disease ) in humans .
Oh btw ! Aircon and refrigerators dont use CFC for cooling agents already , they use another agent which is less harmful to the ozone layer.
