Valid handphone number subscription

  Hi all i need some help from pros here.
  
  Currently i'm doing a program that can send sms through desktop. Anyway currently i need to know if there is anyway which can enable me to detect if a sms sent to a client is being received?
  
  For example if a handphone number is not in use and i send a sms to that number is it possible that i can receive an error message from the phone or telco?

  Yes, you have to activate delivery reports available in most mobile phones options. An acknowledgment sms is sent back to the sender that is has reached the exchange, another one will be sent upon the recipient receiving it. So you should receive two consecutive delivery reports for a successful send.

  i can't seems to google anything out off it that's why i'm turning to forums now, anyway isit possible to retrieve the delivery report from the handphone modem to the pc via com port using vb.net?

  For a mobile number to be valid or not, that enquiry has to be from the telcos... Offhand you won't be able to tell whether the mobile numbers are in use or not...
  
  Most handsets are set by default that no delivery report is sent or received, so in the mass SMS blasting situation, you will be clueless on the actual receivable rate of the mobile numbers that you've sent through to...

  what if i set the delivery report to true in mobile units then is it possible to retrieve the delivery report from the handphone modem to the pc via com port using vb.net?

  If you are going to use VB.NET, be prepared that it will not work on all phones.
  
  You will have better luck with Java, Python, C or C++
