  It's a wrong way to put it.
  
  I feel it's all about dating etiquette; a man always volunteer to foot the bill and a woman can request to go dutch.
  
  After all, you wouldn't want to appear to be stingy before a lady nor want to appear as a male chauvinist pig too It's really dependant on the situation

  in a date, i usually, is the one, footing the bill, and if i am in a relationship, usually, we will foot the bill together. and furthermore, in a date, why man always insist on footing the bills, it is to look generous on the man side, and to leave a impression bah
  
  but don't insist on footing the bill, when the woman wishes to go dutch on a date
