Be Yourself Day is on 31 Aug, 2007 (Day before TeacherÂ’s Day) but schools may declare any other day to celebrate. On this day, students are encouraged to hang up their uniforms and come to school dressed to best express their personalities. They can join in this great day of creative freedom by simply making a donation. Their contributions will help The New Paper raise funds for the President's Challenge 2007.
The President's Challenge, mooted by President Nathan in the year 2000, is a series of events benefiting 58 charities. This is the eigth year The New Paper is involved in the President's Challenge and the sixth year it's organising the "Be Yourself Day".
The Most Creative ContestStudents of participating schools will hang up their uniforms on Be Yourself Day and report to school dressed anyway they want - to best express their personalities. They can be cool, chic, or simply out-of-this world! The top 3 most creative dressers in each participating school will win a $50 book voucher each and might have their pictures published in The New Paper. Winners will be decided by respective participating schools.
