If you don't practise what you preach, it's just as good as not knowing.
When you teach, you remind others that, like you, there are things they still do not know.

Second point - Hmm... my understanding of it is very different from yours. I interpreted it as if you really know your stuff, you will be able to demonstrate it. Good point to ponder over.

Does not really make any sense to me except the demonstration part. I think its partly due to my own beliefs towards studying and academics.

But it doesn't take a Literature student to be able to explain it.. besides, my interpretation may not be what Richard Bach really meant...
