SINGAPORE: Advanced Medical Optics has recalled all stocks of a contact lens solution in Singapore.
The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) says all batches of "AMO Complete Moistureplus Multipurpose Solution" will be taken off the shelves as a precaution.
The recall follows similar action in America where the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention had raised concerns over the product after treating patients who developed eye infections.
The infections were caused by Acanthamoeba, a naturally occurring water-borne organism which can contribute to serious corneal infections.
HSA says there have been no similar reports in Singapore and that there is no evidence to suggest the product has been contaminated.
But it advises consumers in Singapore who have the solution to stop using it immediately.
Contact lens users who experience symptoms of eye infection such as redness or pain should also seek medical attention.

Last time used Renu, Renu got recall. But I didn't care, continued to use till finish.
Now no more Renu, changed to AMO. And this one also kenna recall. hmm... why like that. -

smore i got 2 bottles.. both open jz recently.. sianz...
they shld refund some money for opened bottles with solution lor... haiz... my money for 2 big opened bottles & 1 small opened bottle gone... -

I'm using Oxysept by Amo....the complete range has a lot of probs recently....and according to my friend whose dad is an optician....the complete range is supposed to be one the more expensive and effective ones to clean contacts....

I din have any probs....coz i have been using Amo oxysept -
Recently, I have been having lotsa discharge from my eyes and my eyes feel dry wearing contact lense. I am not sure whether it is due to AMO. But I have been using the same brand of contact lense (Biomedics) and encounter no problem with the lense. It's only recently that I started using AMO.

i use bleach for my spec lenses and nothing happen to my eye...
only my spec got abit colour lost... -

dat time i got post on sg forum tt my eyes suddenly cannot tahan my contact lenses...(dat time using complete, not the complete moisture series) i tot is becos my eyes cannot use softlenses comfort le. later i change to solo care, now eyes can tahan my contacts le.

the moment i use this i got red eye
tot i got sore eye, then when i got for follow up, doc realised its to do with the solution
anyway, using other brand, no problem liao -

i juz changed to solo care due to the Complete recall....
but not as good as Complete lor....
e lense seems so hard when i take it out frm e lense case....
cannot trust cheapo promos.....i got 3 bottles of solo care for $23..... =(
