Computer Science vs Computer Engineering

  Hey guys, I have a few questions to ask regarding this 2 courses in a university so I'm hoping you guys can help me out with this:
  
  - What exactly does one study in Computer Science course? Then what about a Computer Engineering course? A rough outline out of the course scope would do fine.
  - Which course is more well-acclaimed in which university (NUS/NTU)?
  - Which is the "hottest" course that most people are applying for this year?
  
  All constructive comments are greatly appreciated as this concerns my future studies. Thanks!

  to put it simply....Computer Science is more on software...Computer Engineering is more on hardware.
  
  for both courses U need to like maths(especially Computer Science)...discrete maths.

  computer eng in ntu.. a lot of maths.. be it discrete math.. or engineering maths....
  
  a lot of programming... a lot of hardware stuffs...
  
  every week one have to do one program.. not including other modules (with lab too).. eg. for yr 1 students..
  
  make sure u like programming.. & maths.. & labs work.. else pls opt for other course..
  
  fyp.. individually...
  
  p.s. computer eng's labs are not like poly labs.. whereby u can use 2 hr to finish one lab... u will need to spend approx at least a few days to a few wk to finish a lab...

  I got an A grade for my Maths at A level. But my sciences suck like hell (2 Ds). And I don't really know much about computing and software. Do you think I can still get in?
  
  Ok, then what Arts course should I take at NUS? I was thinking along the line of Literature or Economics. Can somebody enlighten me on how popular this 2 courses are at NUS?

  Ok....the question is...what do u like..? What is your interest...? And what do u want your future career to be...?
  
  If you have no interest.....dont like programming stuff....and dont plan to become a programmer or in IT career......then dont go for Computer science/ Engineering..
  
  Firstly u need to do some soul-searching....get a solid picture of what u want.....
  
  Im saying this because Computer science/ Engineering is pretty technical......if ur heart is not in it, you will suffer.......

  there are always different specialisation within each discipline.
