Which Bangkok Hotel?

  I am visiting Bangkok in a month time for 3 nights. I am looking for a 4-5 stars hotel. Anyone got recommendation? I am finding hotel which is convenient with shopping areas and eateries.

  Siam square Novetel?
  
  you going for something like a package rite?
  
  airticks, shuttle service, hotel covered by the travel agency, with possibly a day where you can go sightseeing with the tour?

  I was there last month. You sure you wanna go? It's pretty dangerous in Bangkok now. There was a bombing near my area during my trip in BK, and then shooting incident which caused the death of one man in Sadao on my way back.

  Mmh not sure about the danger part, but been here for about 6 months already and things are not as what the media portrays it. Our local media tends to blow things out of proportion... whilst making Singapore look like heaven.
  
  But nonetheless, incase of any incidents, do keep your love ones informed of where you are staying.
  
  I agree with Novotel and Pathumwan Princess for the Siam area. For Hotels in the Pratunam area you can try Amari Watergate... Do search around the Siam area if you like shopping. If you like partying, it would be the Ratchada/Petchburi/Phra Ram 9 area. But I would still recommend the Siam/Pratunam area as it is relatively central.
