my wisdom tooth recently giving me problems.. think gg to extract these few weeks..
anyone knows how long is the recovery period after extracting?
cos from what i read from other websites, sounds very scary (cut the gum, pull out tooth, stitch back).. so gross.. -

if it does not need operation... it will recover within a week.
Operation...
will need around a month to recover. -
eh, i had surgery bcoz partially hidden......after 2 hours i was eating....should have booked a holiday
before plucking.

This is what I did:
X-ray to see how many I have (4 of them), 3 vertical, the resi horizontal.
Doctor advice I take out 1 side 1st, so you can eat with the other side. You can opt for all removal but you will be admitted to the hospital for a day for precaution.
taking out 1 side = 2 wisdom teeth. Top 1 is cheap, bottom 1 is more expensive coz its surgery.
After taken out, depending on the size of da wisdom tooth, may subject to sewing to keep the wound small. 1st 8 hrs or so, you will have some discomfort in the bleeding and stinging pain, after dat is ok liao. Porridge is a common dietry food for the next 4 - 5 days. After can try taking solid food.
Side note: if opt for 1 or 2 extractions, you will have 2 - 4 injections into the gum. That in my opinion is the most painful experience of all. Maybe I dislike syringe insertion.

cos, i was initially wondering, if i can go back to work 3-4 days after the surgery cos shorthanded this month. now.. i'm relieved! -

the good thing abt taking all out in one shot is that they put me under general anaesthesia, meaning i get knocked out and they can do whatever they want to my gums, teeth...
and it's a day surgery, so u just need to go there in the morning and u can go back in the late afternoon... erm... i dun remember it being very painful and i din take the painkiller after 1 day... just that i stick to porridge n whipped potato for a few days... -
me finally just finished my wisdom tooth surgery, haiz, if only i removed them years ago
today found out that my impacted wisdom tooth has caused the molar in front to decay, so seriously that i have to do a root canal surgery. damn bloody expensive.
so just to let everyone know, if you have impacted wisdom teeth, go extract them, esp if you are in the army or can claim from company.
don't be like me, extract them only when they are causing pain. by then, means big problem liao
