  want to know wads yr training like?
  
  dono if this should be in gym forum cause i doubt dragonboaters/canoers would go to the forum?

  If there is no competition, training is held either Saturday or Sunday depending on different groups/organization.
  
  If there is competition, additional training will be held on 2 weekday nights.
  
  Which group/organization are you with?

  i am not into canoeing/dragonboating, just interested to know how u guys train? as in wad u guys do ? either in gym or outside,

  i was a canoeist last time, starting they will ask u to do the normal stuff lor. run 4km+ then do push ups, pull ups, sit ups, all the stuff la. then slowly when quite fit liao then they will ask u go gym. as for the rowing part, starting its 2 times a wk, saturday sure for rowing de. then slowly its 4 times a wk

  in my school. the canoeing team trains so often and so hard most canoeists dont have a social life and become obsessed with training.

  i used to be a canoeist. the training is damn crazy. for land training, we just keep doing inclined pull ups, push ups, squats, lunges, calve raises and sprints. once the teacher was damn pissed off at us and he made us do 1000push ups. can die la.
  
  water training is better. just row around.
  
  if you are thinking of becoming a canoeist, my advice is DONT. unless you are willing to give up spending time with friends and family. and losing touch with your life. (:

  my sch kayaking and db team have insane training schedule..
  
  they train 4 times a week when no competition and 5 times a week when there is..
  so basically, veri little social life..

  I heard NJ always comes in tops? Anyone care to verify?
  How many members in a school team can take part in a com. Last time I saw some JC got two in one kayak, then I even saw one solo.

  My school canoeists train like siao ..became obsessed with training also... like wad..up to 4-6 times a week...thought of joining canoeing in sec1 but after hearing about the schedule, i figured out taht i probably cant commit myself to it..
  
  Newae yea..guys NJ is tops..heard that their trg is like....run 2.4 every morning...and train almost everyday..train train train...

  i am not joining , jsut wana know wads training like? do u guys go gym to do those exercises or u use bodyweight
