I think it must be this type of bloody people who hog the applications and thus so many people cannot enter uni. Please show some consideration.
Since you know what you want and am so confident with your appealling skills just apply for SMU then, what for waste time with NUS and NTU. Waste your time filling in the form and the administrator's time to admit you. -

Since you already know you die die want to go into SMU, why did you bother to apply for NUS and NTU? Get offered a place for the 2 unis and then dont even consider them. Do you know you are denying others of their chance to get offered the place?
And seriously, I can feel that you are one hell of a proud fella... Come in here to show off your achievement is it? Big deal lor... There are lots of graduates in the streets of Singapore today.
And seriously, I dont know why you die die want SMU only.. Is it because of the recent articles about the huge salaries? Please lor.. those people featured are the cream of the crop. Usually, the "commoners" and the "failures" will be left out. It doesnt really matter whether you are from NTU or NUS or SMU. As long as you are capable, you are well sought after by the companies and you get paid well.
And by the way, if you think NTU and NUS biz are not up to mark, let me remind you that they are highly-respected and they have been rated tops in several surveys. -

hey kid.....as someone says in this thread...the university u go in the local context doesnt matter.....as it depends on ur own capabilities....but ion the international scene...NUS is way above the 2 in terms of prestige and recognition.Originally posted by investment:hi friends,

i have talked to a few top management pple from SMU in a conference in India last yr....cmon man...i found out that they are just master of marketing...the foundations of NUS and NTU is much better. They have less substance and r therefore have to resort to doing these gimmicks to start the ball rolling.... -

Just weird why you wanna apply to all 3 unis since you already know what you want, and so sure of getting in. Anyway you apply under a different category from A level students i believe, so you are competing with other poly students for that fixed number of places for poly students (thats what i heard). Of course if you have good intentions then i think everyone should welcome it.

by applying to all 3, he's taking up 2 slots that he does not need, preventing people with borderline cases from making the cut ....
what a 'kind' person~~~may god 'bless' u!
smu is like people telling to u join MLM or sell insurance, they tell u all the success stories...having managerial level jobs at citibank, royal bank of scotland, .......starting salaries of $4000+++, these people deserve such high salaries becus they have the apptitude and the attitude..90% of SMU graduates are just the same as NTU and NUS grads in terms of salaries and career prospects..
NTU is only better than NUS in certain schools of engineering and business..i have to admit NUS is no doubt the better school due to its history and comprehensive university status (NTU doesnt have law, medicine, etc...)
Actually, if a person does not make it to uni, instead of appealing here and there, why not think abt why u did not make the cut??? a 3 or 4 yr university course is no joke, and if u reali dun have the 'brains' or the determination, u may end up graduating in 5 years or more..whats the pt den??
