so whats ur plan?Originally posted by Mewlove:Why is it that its always the dragon year that has problems... The government was really happy that we have an increase in birth rate in the dragon year. But it is this batch that endured the most changes. They are either the last batch doing something or the first batch of guinee piggees. This year there are 4 universities namely National university of Singapore, Nanyang technology University, Singapore Mangagement University and the 4th university which is catered more to the working adults Singapore Institute of Management.
I am thinking uni places have indeed increased.Originally posted by Mewlove:Why is it that its always the dragon year that has problems... bro...foreign quotas are set at 20pc regarless of the number of places..so if foreign places go up so will local places.Originally posted by charlize:I am thinking uni places have indeed increased.
But the increase is largely to cater to more foreign students coming to Singapore. Places for locals might not have increased proportionately for Sg students, that's why recently you get this spate of complaints from anxious sg parents.
vote smartly next time during electionOriginally posted by 798:no chance in hell tis year.even if u may be in director list, ur place may not be a gurantee.
even though eee has the highest intakes in ntu, majority of the students i encountered usually had merit diploma or average A grades.
You believe this quota?Originally posted by curryman:bro...foreign quotas are set at 20pc regarless of the number of places..so if foreign places go up so will local places.
ur alevel results is more universally accepted than poly if u cant get into local uni...try overseas uni.Originally posted by Mewlove:No idea... I was good in the arts part... but it seems I couldnt even manage in Arts design media, neither to interior design in NUS... Probably they think Im not professional nor even an amateur since I have no arts or digital background... Or it was because they asked for a 3 minutes video but I gave a 3 minutes animation instead... May be because I only applied for the more competitive courses like Interactive media and animation... But since I was rejected, I'm not going to appeal to that.
Was thinking, it might have been better if I get into poly instead of Junior College that time. Things might have been different. I could have entered university using poly. But with my O levels grade I felt it was really a waste not to enter Junior college. People who could enter Junior College are not dumb. They are able to get into junior College because they have really high potential they can get into University. Its just like if you got into the Direct route to A levels from Secondary school ( the choo choo train system ^^) means you are capable of getting into university. But what if they do not get into university? What are they supposed to do? As for me, my results are probably the way they are because I have a competition right after my A levels and I have to put some time in my practice. For these "Geniuses" they might even have more things to worry about than me and these could have adversly affected their results and thus brought down their results. Then what would happen if they could not get into the universities?
Well an additional uniersity would help, but SIM is mainly catered to working adults. Well, it is only recently you see admission criterias changing to suit A level students as well. One of the previous criteria is - 21 years and above -- which is not applicable to fresh A level graduates.
go malaysia limkokwing?Originally posted by Mewlove:Overseas uni are fine... But they are a tad too expensive... I cant even guarantee I can fork that amount of money out after I graduate and work for 5 years...
