Are bikes allowed on highways?

Hi. I believe most of us have seen people riding bicycles on highways but isit actually allowed? Just need to check this out because I and a group of friends are going to cycle on a few highways for this trail that we have planned. If any1 is familiar with this, please help, thanks.
P.S. The highway i'm most concerned with would be the part at the end of ecp, going across the kallang basin, towards suntec. Pls advice me on this thankss. -

you cycle along tg rhu road all the way till the end. there's the roundabout thing where all the heavy vehicles bike. you have to carry your bike and trudge thru high lalangs and overgrown grass to reach the staircase. it'll be behind this condo lah.. den you just go up the stairs and when you're up you can cycle slowly. very steep upslope.Originally posted by OmnislasherFX:cool, just what i needed to noe, but i cant see this route from streetdirectory.com's map.. do tell me more. no lalangs at all. just got to cycle under shears bridge. when ur going down shears bridge, just becareful of the road direction signages mounted beside padestrian path. just email the Traffic Police and ask them, and also alternatives?

Cycling on the expressway is not allowed. The fine is $70/- or $130/-, not sure....will need to recheck the traffic offence code book again.
Pushing your bike on the pedestrain walkway is okay.
Riding on the pedestrain walkway is not allowed.
But there is new discussion in paliarment that will allow it in future. Studies is currently underway in Tampines? -
