  Italy has alot of nicely crafted and designed Churches,Chapels and Cathedrals(Think of St andrews Cathedral in Singapore, U will see many more in Italy). The people over there are pre-dominantly Roman Catholics and the Vatican City is housed in the heart of Rome.
  
  Italy was also the heart of Europe during the Renaissance age, so alot of famous craftsman guilds was housed there. Meaning there are nice architecture on the streets.
