I think, commenting out of experience, it is true.
But I would say, as a married person, we back up each other.
If she's down and out, I am behind her. And when I was down and out, she believed in me and backed me up all the way till today I'm finally made.
Faith in each other is a PARAMOUNT indgredient to any relationship. -

We should discard the old fashioned mentality that the man shouldn't be assisted by a woman. In today's living, we need each other's financial assistance more than ever. This is SIngapore, not Malaysia where you can grow food in your backyard and still survive when jobless...
Ego kills a man more than anything else. If you need financial support for a while to get to where you aim to get, so be it that your partner helps you out till then! Instead of breaking your back going against tremendous odds and then fall flat without achieving it. -

less than 5% is divorce and single... If I remember it correctly.. -

Yes of coz... the is what it is like since biblical times.. where God gave Adam Eve for companionship and to help him tend the garden.... which is still true till this day.. every great man does have someone behind.. maybe most great man...

How about our MM Lee who for years relied much on his wife's lawyer pay to support the family. ( Of coz now his pay is super high)

There are cases where the successful person is single...
Example Alexander the great who had many wifes but his really companionship is his troops.
Or business woman of the year Elaine Chew of 77th St.
etc but these are minority compared to the above. -

however, there are many times when a woman drives a man who loves her to distraction too...
and vice-versa..
and there are many times a man or a woman is successful in spite of their partner..
so, don't take it at face value.. there are many many stories out there.. just that some of the stories, you never get to hear or don't want to hear
