Plant outside unit

Would like to know how many of you out there keep a fruiting plant or two outside their HDB unit?
I have got a chilli plant outside mine but whenever a chilli starts budding out, it will be 'lost' within a day.
Anybody face the same problem of passerbys helping themselves to your plants?
Any suggestions on how to deal with this? -

Someone told me to stick the end of josssticks (the wooden part) around the plant. Now that might attract unwanted attention from the 'other' world

Maybe put a notice outside reminding them that whether they like it or not, taking someone else's property is stealing
Coz some people think that taking a chilli is something small and it's outside so it's not considered stealing.
Maybe something like
Stealing Chilli from my Plant makes you a Theif -
I have this "xia liu" plant outside my house. Which some people believes you must include a few leaves of the plant with water and wash your face after attending funeral.. my neighbours used to just plucked a few leaves for their usage.. Recently they start to cut a few stems

Put a sign to say "This area is under camera suvelliance for illegitimate activities".

it really depends on your neighbourhood, i once seen my neighbour's pot became ash tray and passer by residents along the corridor just snub their ciggys out at the pot.
suggest is not to have fruiting plant loh....have cactus lah....or install a camera (not connected) like that they will think twice before meddling. -
No put some rat poison in the chili... see who is in funeral then you know who steal...

I was thinking about that too. But those small wireless ones fed to the computer. just put a spoilt webcame there can liao . used to have ppl stealing my slippers de but after installing the webcam (not connected) no more stolen slippers liao

i have a pot of i-dunno-wat at the corridor
i have no idea wat it is and wat it will grow into
but once in a while when i standing at the corridor to smoke i will jus water it for the sake of it -

my wife also planted a money plant outside our place. One day someone just carry off the whole thing, was growing beautifully too. And that's not all. My slippers keep disappearing. One day my son's shoes also gone. wtf is wrong with people?

Correct me if I'm wrong or being bias but I do notice if you were to stay in those 2 or 3 rooms flat the chances of things disappearing outside your corridor is far greater than those staying in 4 rooms and higher. My parents have a 5 room flat and in one of the newer estates and the shoes keep disappearing too -

last time i got one side of a pair of slippers missing, i think left side.
so i just bought another pair, exactly the same....... (i only wear 1 type of slippers)
then a couple of months later, the new pair's right side just disappeared one day.
so i matched the old pair's right side and new pair's left side and continue to wear.
and i guess the thief is oso happy to have both sides.
but i have no idea he/she take one side for wat
and still bother to come back and try his/her luck for the other side -
I used to grow lime in my garden...
nothing really happen to them.. -
maybe your chili is eaten by birds?
