Singapore Esplanade "Durain Icon" seems to be very quiet

even on weekends nowdays...
I mean no more the crowd that once it used to be
in the past
How do this bldg actually survive ...?
Using wat funds to support the two huge durains?

It's the best place for slacking.
And seriously if anyone go there for shopping or for food, its plain silly. -
It's just a White Elephant. It's supposed to cater for the arts and stuff..... Just how vibrant is the Arts scene in Singapore? It's one BIG yawn! Who cares about the arts when we are all hard- pressed to make ends meet with rising costs?
So let the esplanade die for all I care! It'll be the govt's fault. While they want Singapore to be a vibrant place with a thriving arts scene, they also want people to slog ever-harder. Blame it on their own lack of direction..........

Yea its not really for shopping or what wat.... its for shows leh...
there's a lot of shows going on...
The audience will support the building.. don't need the government.. -

Singapore is not known for its arts scene

the library there quite little ppl, not bad if u want to go there to study
another area is the rooftop...around 6-7pm quite many people there..take photos. -

I guess people don't go there unless,
1) Buy tickets
2) Watch plays, concerts (or whatever) -
baybeats is coming soon....wun be quiet then....
now sing arts fests got free shows, still quiet meh? -
It's not as busy as the nearby shopping centres, but the quiet and airy atmosphere makes it nice to sit around under the glass roof and relax.
They're building something to replace the outdoor theatre. It was a good place to listen to live music.
