markers at mrt stations

  ever noticed the silver round and straight metal buttons they stick on the floor of mrt stations to guide blind people?
  
  what are they for?
  
  i guess its to guide blind people... but recently my friends and i tried to close our eyes and walk the thing but we didnt end up at the lift door .

  i make it have frictio between our shoes and the ground so we would fall into the mrt tracks?

  it's for those visually impaired.. it helps them to move around more easily with those guidance..
