No beards around

  I was just chillin' the other day then suddenly I realised that I've never seen a Singaporean with a beard. Ever. Anyone know why?
  
  and yes I know I have way too much free time to be wondering about crap like this

  1.) You don't go out much.
  
  or
  
  2.) You probably think Singaporean = Chinese.
  
  You never seen Indian or Malay men with beards?

  I guess it depends on how you get around. I've seen very few myself too. Maybe it's because many aren't genetically predisposed to sprouting a decent amount of facial, chest or body hair to show off.
  
  Maybe it's a matter of personal preference too. I just don't like it...have you read Roald Dahl's The Twits? The appearance of thick black facial hairs on yellow skin doesn't appeal to me either.
  
  Moustached Chinese men seem to be in a marginally higher concentration among old hands in the army though.

  2 of my colleagues have beards...one of them has greyish beard and messy...very dirty and oily looking. Yukkss!!
