nlb books return due date help

is it safe to return the book on the exact due date in the evening?? if it take time for scanning then if i return in the evening then the book got scanned only on the nxt day i'll tio or-gong lor??
i always return the books at least a week before due date but this time... borrow too thick books havent read finish and die date is coming..
so is it safe to return the books on exactly the due date and in the evening?? -

Its okay. Just don't throw it in like 30 mins before the library close.

the moment u drop it in the bookdrop, the barcode is being scanned so no pblm.......come to think of it i still owe them overdue fees

Just drop it into the book drop.
If you still have not finish your books and still wants to read them somemore.
Go to the library and go to the counter to have the books renewed.
alternatively, you can try to renew the books online at www.nlb.gov.sg
for late fines, you can look for the machines at the libraries that can read your ezlink card and pay off with your ezlink card. -
you wouldnt get fined for this.

I got fin around $6 for 2 books
because I forget the due date -

i accumulated my fines for couple of books few times that snowballed $5+ only.. -

Yes. Every book is RFID tagged. since they using the self-return system (bookdrop), u book is cleared when u drop it in (must see the light light up and hear a beep)
u may return it in the evening on the due date itself -
You can return the book anytime, as long as it's before the library closing time. Even for a 24-hour bookdrop, try to return it before it closes. If you can't finish the books in time, renew it. Or for cheapo Singaporeans, return it, lurk around the library for a few hours, then re-borrow it to prevent paying the 50 cents fine. -
If the book is so overdue that the fines exceed the cost of the book, then just declare it lost and pay for the book.

Cos they have comp records that you borrowed the book before. I remember one book can only be borrowed to the same person 3 times.
So you just go to the counter and renew the borrowing period can liao. -

he didn't retrun his books and forgot all about it
becos he refuses to pay the amt now
and the library refuses to waive it
now he is barred from using the library -
