criteria for admissions to JCs

In the circumstances whereby you pass your CCA points with only around a C or a B, faring quite badly, can you be admitted in a JC? Is it a fact or simply a make-up tale that literally, as long as you have good grades, you'll be admitted in a JC?

academic results are priority.....
CCA all these are side dishes......
but then, if u have poor results, u better have some CCA achievements -
If you get below 20pts you are admitted to a JC.
The only thing that CCA is useful for is to cut an additional 2points off your score. So lets say you score 10pts, your grade after cut-off is 8pts.
Extremely important if you want to enter the top JCs. -
Singapore still values paper over other things.
Unless you want a scholarship, of which both must look good. -
Though I'm fine with Polytechnics and JCs, my family members all seem to favour JC as they say the chances of getting into a University is higher.
If I am to enter a Polytechnic, I'd much prefer to study Mass Comm. After all, it has been my childhood dream since young to delve into the deeper depths of career lines that are available for Mass Comm students.
But I'm wondering, if you're in the committee of a club and not a Uniform-group, then would they shortchange you on the outlet of CCA points accumulated. Cuz I think most schools tend to award more points to UG groups... though i'm in a UG too. -

My teacher told me that normally is they purposely push the mark down 1..passing at O's is easier... -
