U have a UG and a 2nd CCA...Sure can get A for Ca one..Most likely..If u actively participate in both of themOriginally posted by bonkysleuth:Though I'm fine with Polytechnics and JCs, my family members all seem to favour JC as they say the chances of getting into a University is higher.
If I am to enter a Polytechnic, I'd much prefer to study Mass Comm. After all, it has been my childhood dream since young to delve into the deeper depths of career lines that are available for Mass Comm students.
But I'm wondering, if you're in the committee of a club and not a Uniform-group, then would they shortchange you on the outlet of CCA points accumulated. Cuz I think most schools tend to award more points to UG groups... though i'm in a UG too.
i personally prefer jc over poly. it is true that if you go poly what you study is specialised and relevant. but that same good point is also a bad point because you would have chosen your future career (more or less) at such a young age. who knows... you might change your mind about mass comm when you're in poly?Originally posted by bonkysleuth:Though I'm fine with Polytechnics and JCs, my family members all seem to favour JC as they say the chances of getting into a University is higher.

Must have at least MT2(Mother tongue as 2nd language).Originally posted by jianfish9:If you get below 20pts you are admitted to a JC.
The only thing that CCA is useful for is to cut an additional 2points off your score. So lets say you score 10pts, your grade after cut-off is 8pts.
Extremely important if you want to enter the top JCs.
Speaking of MT, i'm also taking HMT. but hell, I always managed to only scrap through the paper with a pass of 1 or 2 mark(s). and earlier, i even have an intention to drop the subject. and that said, you have to just PASS hmt to get a deduction of 2 points off your score right?Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Must have at least MT2(Mother tongue as 2nd language).

the only criteria is 20 pts for L1R5 and below 18 yrs of age, everything else is about competition.Originally posted by bonkysleuth:In the circumstances whereby you pass your CCA points with only around a C or a B, faring quite badly, can you be admitted in a JC? Is it a fact or simply a make-up tale that literally, as long as you have good grades, you'll be admitted in a JC?
