  Cologne. He will surely remember you everytime he puts it on and goes out. I tried a few brands theyre pretty good. But you shld know what kind of person he is so buy the right one. There are those very strong ones and others are lighter ones. These are those ive used and theyre good IMO.

I think since he has paid for almost all your expenses, then the price of these colognes should not be a problem. They cost 70-100+ for a decent bottle, usually 100ml. Can be bought easily at Metro or you can go to Paragon.
