I've been asked to give a talk in my city next week about Primary School life in Singapore.I know nothing about this subject as I am not an Elementary School teacher and I dont live in Singapore.I need to know how big the schools,the time-table,games and classroom activities,recreational facilities,teacher/Student communication and relationship......all additional information is welcome.Thanks people!

PE lessons twice per week.
got morning session aftnoon session
assembly then morning mari kita or evening mari kita
games
all the weird games, used to play hopscotch, marble etc.
last time is boy no hold girl hand. but now i think is boy wan hold girl hand
got a major exam in p6(PSLE)
sometimes got fights among the students
then is
alot of cheem stuff liao...as compared to like 5 years ago...like centre of gravity shyt.
oh yeah alot of tuition for some kids too -

P1 to P2 - Study English, Maths and Mother Tongue. Miscellaneous subjects are CME (in Mother Tongue), Health Education, PE (Physical Education) and Art (inclusive of music).
P3 - Add a Science. From P3 onwards, have to do this I am a young __________ thing. For example, Astronomer, Botanist, etc. Teaches research skills.
P4 - Add Social Studies + Mr Policeman. Now is Safe & Secure. Also a streaming year.
P5 & P6 - Dependent on P4 results. EM1 students study an additional subject known as Higher Mother Tongue. EM2 students are the same as P4. EM3 students study the same thing, but take fewer subjects for PSLE.
P6 is also PSLE year.
CCA, not sure. For my batch, it's implemented from P3 onwards. From Arts to sports and Science. Uniform groups also have.
Classroom activities - P1 and P2 are more interactive. Teachers will read out stories to students and students follow suit to learn how to read. Teachers also interact more with students when they are assigned class work, unlike students from P3 onwards.
As for facilities, classrooms, hall(s), music room, art room (might be optional, not so sure), science room, courts and libraries are present. Other facilities may be there, depends on school.
What students do after school (for morning session) - play basketball, soccer, captain ball, table tennis, badminton or other stuffs
What students do before school (for afternoon session) - all of the above.
A must thing for all students and teachers of the school - singing of National Anthem and taking pledge in the morning for AM session students, in the evening for PM session students. For PM session students, pledge is taken in the afternoon. No pledge is taken in the evening.
Singing of school song during assembly should be common enough, not sure if it's practised in all schools.
Exams and tests wise - Term 1 and 3 - CA1 and CA2. Term 2 and 4 - SA1 and SA2. -

Sec 1 and Sec 2 - takes common subjects
They are English, Maths, Science, Mother Tongue, History, Geography, Art, Literature, Home Economics and Design & Technology. Normal Technical students take an extra subject called CPA (I think, something related to Computer Studies, except it's very basic). Students who took Higher Mother Tongue in primary school will also take this subject once they are in secondary school, they also have an option to drop it.
Sec 2 will also be a streaming year, good results will get into a class that you like. Subjects differ from school to school, generally, these are the compulsory ones:
English, Elementary Maths, Science (Combined), Mother Tongue, Social Studies, Geography/History, Home Economics, Design & Technology, Art, CPA, Literature.
Better students will take the pure version of Science and Additional Mathematics. They may also drop it if they can't cope.
CCA - same. More variety. After school life is mainly on their CCA, therefore it's not recommended to have more than 3.
National Anthem and pledge is again a must, unless you are a foreign student. If you are a foreign student, you are requested to stand at attention, nothing more is required from you.
Facilities - more than primary schools. A special Chemistry, Physics and Biology labs. Might have more, but schools will have at least one of each. Same for Art, Computer, Home Economics, Design & Tech and Music room.
PE lessons differ from school to school. My school spread it over a few days; my sister's school had it in just one day, one hour at a stretch.
Some schools may have special rules to define themselves. For example, Cedar Girls school students have to wear a tie regardless of whether they are prefects/councilors.
Activities wise, depends on schools themselves. -

WOW sound like damn jialat for kids these days.The education in Japan is the same as10 years before I left Singapore.How come there are no suicides in school? Not never have suicide, is have. They generally happen after the exam periods, stressed over poor results. But most didn't result in death. Was it the O Levels or PSLE, someone killed him/herself over it, after the results were released. -

But primary school is also the time I see more suicide than anything. It was so serious that it prompted Tinkle Friend to come over to schools to have talks.
Police also came. CNB officers also came. To warn against doing illegal stuffs. -
In Japan most people believe in reincarnation so if some kid is not happy just jump down from a four storey school building of hang themselves in the gym and after that hope for a better life with lesser home work.heree are some reasons for suicides
A)kena bully by peers or even teachers
B)Kena scolding in front of the class
C)Cant finish work on time and to avoid B
D)School life sucks!
E) Cheated in the exams
f)caught molesting students with big titties,masturbating or sexually harassing teachers and staffs

Simi Miso crunch?
