Sec 1 and Sec 2 - takes common subjects
They are English, Maths, Science, Mother Tongue, History, Geography, Art, Literature, Home Economics and Design & Technology. Normal Technical students take an extra subject called CPA (I think, something related to Computer Studies, except it's very basic). Students who took Higher Mother Tongue in primary school will also take this subject once they are in secondary school, they also have an option to drop it.
Sec 2 will also be a streaming year, good results will get into a class that you like. Subjects differ from school to school, generally, these are the compulsory ones:
English, Elementary Maths, Science (Combined), Mother Tongue, Social Studies, Geography/History, Home Economics, Design & Technology, Art, CPA, Literature.
Better students will take the pure version of Science and Additional Mathematics. They may also drop it if they can't cope.
CCA - same. More variety. After school life is mainly on their CCA, therefore it's not recommended to have more than 3.
National Anthem and pledge is again a must, unless you are a foreign student. If you are a foreign student, you are requested to stand at attention, nothing more is required from you.
Facilities - more than primary schools. A special Chemistry, Physics and Biology labs. Might have more, but schools will have at least one of each. Same for Art, Computer, Home Economics, Design & Tech and Music room.
PE lessons differ from school to school. My school spread it over a few days; my sister's school had it in just one day, one hour at a stretch.
Some schools may have special rules to define themselves. For example, Cedar Girls school students have to wear a tie regardless of whether they are prefects/councilors.
Activities wise, depends on schools themselves.
No jogging during winter but a lot of swimming during PE lessons because the summer temp can go as high as 40cOriginally posted by Deino:so jealous.....i wish to be a cg artist and work for some japanese game company.....my jap fren told me over there when winter time the sch bring them go jogging then when summer time they go swimming.....

Not never have suicide, is have. They generally happen after the exam periods, stressed over poor results. But most didn't result in death. Those that result in death you will see headline after results are announced.Originally posted by Short Ninja:WOW sound like damn jialat for kids these days. The education in Japan is the same as10 years before I left Singapore. How come there are no suicides in school? Simi Miso crunch? But I can tell you the miso soup in all the Singapore food courts is not as good as the small packets of Miso you buy from the supermaket. Also Kaiten Sushi is Singapore is like Russian Roulette, the only difference is that all the sushi you choose taste horrible.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:You like to eat Miso Crunch?![]()
