Is ok to show these real news but I don't think is fair to make all these comments. I think the malaysia media is very transparancy to highlight all these crimes which is good, and this doesn mean there's no action. We admit and show there are flaws, not like there are places where simply say something might get sue to bankrupt or even to jail.
- more police patrolling around the residential area, more checkups. We should regcon all these effort, not demolish their effort.
- and have campaign making everyone aware about crime, and provide more proactive atitude towards it.
for example.
one incident long ago, my friend was been hurt by someone with knife, we immediately report to the police and tat was in the midnight. So the police was very helpful and immediately provide help and bring my friend to hospital, and the police ask me to bring them to catch the person, so there we have a big team of police went with me and caught tat guy at his home.
some other example of other police tat not in malaysia, when i cross the road not in zebra crossing, i was been stop and fine, but then sudden a big crowd is crossing as well, and the police act blur just looking at me and pretend never see others, is this fair?
Yes crime is quite high in jb recently, but tat doesn make it sound so exagerated. Sometimes no news of crime doesnt make it as safe as appeared to be.
What I'm try to say is to be fair of what you say. even i notice sbst275's comments singapore police force is 2~3 times more than malaysia police???
Is tat making sense? Well maybe i really a frog in the well that sbst275 is right with his comments.
Do not judge the police by their pays, Yes, malaysia police earn lesser pay but not all police is bad, there always good police and we don't judge them by their pay. And do not forget high pay come with a price from the commoners.
Just like those job who work as cleaner, their pay is low and not a lot of ppl would take up this job, but their contribution is big, way to big than ours, they make our life better and doing the jobs we don't do. I do really appreciate these extraordinary ppl.
My wish and continous action is to lending out support hand for those in needs and together to curb any crime no matter which country we are in.

Security in Johor has not been good and recently been worse.
No doubt, it is helped by the "Big" fishes coming over from Singapore.
I do admit that some Singaporeans when visiting Malaysia are attracting the wrong attentions by their boorish behavior. For example, bringing large amount of cash, driving posh cars, wearing tons of jewelery. -
what i feel is happening here right now is a display of the criminological "broken window" theory.
basically, the theory is that in a neighbourhood, if one window is broken and left unfixed, it leaves the message that no-one cares and soon, more windows will be broken and crime will spread like an epidemic.
however, if you fix any window that is broken within a short amount of time, it gives the impression that ppl care and you can't try to mess around in the neighbourhood because someone will come and get you.
basically, it's just the old idiom, a stich in time saves nine.
now, it's really up to the JB police to see what they can do.
they will have do take drastic measures to eradicate crime and keep at it until there is a sudden significant drop in crime. the question is whether they have the determination and intelligence to see this through.
unfortunately, history is not on the side of the police -
i think the version of the news posted online is a little distorted. i read in xin ming wan pao sometime ago that the girl wasn.t raped she was only molested. maybe someone post the link of the orginal article here -

If the victims are malay,im sure the police will be more pro-active to solve the case.But the bigger picture is that the govt needs to reduce the discrimination against msian chinese,revamp its police force and clean up its act.But all these is easier said than done and prolly it ends up in a NATO(no action talk only)case.
Thus the best option is for the pple themselves to exercise extra vigilance.Don't even give the fcukers a chance to pounce on you.Everytime ur out on the streets,be it broad daylight or at night,just outside your house or at the shopping centre,treat it as a battlefield.This may sound funny and far-fetched but its the only way to remind yourself of how vulnerable you are to crime.Remember,the safest place is your home but it may not be 100% foolproof.U need to ensure that u GUARD ur home well FIRST so that it can guard you even better.
I read countless reports of how robbers enter thru the open backdoor of the house and ambush their victims.Y not just lock the door in the first place?Take things for granted?Complacency?

I just read in The Newpaper this morning that there is another gang rape on this 18 yr old girl in Penang.
She was abducted by 10 men posing to be police to an abandoned hut and raped by them
They tied her up and gagged her and held her for 3 days and they continued to rape her and there were others that came who is not from the initial 10 to rape her too >.<

but how come suddenly surge of such news when S'pore prices going up???? U mean so coincidental the the horny rapists all suddenly active tog now?
Maybe its to deter us from going there every weekend to stock up groceries etc etc.........................

Drop in JB crime rate
JOHOR BARU: The increased police presence in the city is showing results – the crime figures have dropped this week.
Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Shafie Ismail said with 70 patrol cars on the road from 11pm to 7am, coupled with dozens of Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel patrolling the streets, crooks were afraid to commit crime.
“We want to scare them (criminals). With so many policemen around, they will think twice before committing any crime.
“There has been a reduction in the crime rate this week, but I do not have the exact figures yet,” said ACP Shafie.
More than 90 police cars and 150 FRU men have been patrolling the streets of Johor Baru (South) and Johor Baru (North) districts since Monday. -

KEPALA BATAS: An 18-year-old girl was abducted by bogus policemen, raped and forced to entertain more than 10 men over three days.
The victim lodged a report on Wednesday after escaping from the house where she had been locked up.
Her nightmare began here on Sunday while she was riding pillion on her boyfriendÂ’s motorcycle.
The couple was stopped by a group of men who introduced themselves as policemen.
The men ordered her boyfriend to leave and for the victim to ride pillion on one of their motorcycles.
The girl was taken to an abandoned house in a nearby village where the men took turns to rape her.
Gagged throughout the time she was there, the victim was also raped by several other men who turned up at the house.
Upon her escape, she lodged a report at the Kepala Batas police station and was sent for a medical check-up.
Police detained two men yesterday in connection with the case, but it is learnt that the main suspect had gone into hiding.
His house is located just behind the abandoned house. -
