Trolling - what you can do

well, there has been a flurry of activity recently...
i can only call it trolling..
some may call it other things but let's just stick to the Internet word for it
from wikipedia:
Trolls can be existing members of a community that rarely post and often contribute no useful information to the thread, but instead make argumentative posts in an attempt to discredit another person, concentrating almost exclusively on facts irrelevant to the point of the conversation, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. The key element under attack by a troll is known only to the troll.
what can we do? actually it's quite simple... NOTHING
Do Not Feed The Troll
not an apathetic nothing, not a frustrated nothing, not a helpless nothing... but a concerted nothing
do not reply, do not post anything about, do not even click the topic started by the troll... in other words, do not even acknowledge the existence of the troll..
to quote wikipedia again:
Experienced participants in online forums know that the most effective way to discourage a troll is usually to ignore him or her, because responding encourages a true troll to continue disruptive posts — hence the often-seen warning "Please do not feed the troll".
so.. gentle readers... don't feed the troll?

I wish we can do nothing but this retard is bumping rubbish in our normal threads too.
And whether we do anything or not, he's already getting the attention he wanted by filling the first page with his nonsense threads. -

there, the mods simply just erase everything and write a small on it...
as for trolls starting topics, just delete...

May I also add in this thread....
Sometimes there are threads about people wanting to abuse animals
the graphic details or pointless violence provoke a lot of responses
which also in the end is what the threadstarter wants to do
the problem is, the more attention we give such threads
showing righteous anger and scolding the TS
the more publicity we give to the violence
and really, the TS of course knows and feels excited by the responses
pls dont feed them too. -

But sometimes, internet users used it to insult, not necessary to mean what wikipedia states. -
