Is Batam still a very dirty old man place?

  ALl i can say is a boring place
  
  Whole place look so poor
  
  full of beggars
  
  So i wonder how the place over there now
  
  still flooded with dirty old man

  now ok....got mega mall near batam centre and nagoya hill which has cinema also.......these malls are ok though not as much stuffs as singapore malls coz everybody here are the type that can afford to go buy stuffs at malls......you shall notice that there aren't many people if you shop in the from say around 10am-5pm most of the residents go out after 5 or so......the taxi drivers are as annoying as ever but just mind them and smile lah.......not as much beggars.....batam the stuffs more expensive than jkt but thats coz the people there most got work wan.....if jkt got many unemployed people so the stuffs are cheaper......batam now got a&w but i wished they got more hoka hoka bento there.....damn.....my advice is stay away from restaurants.....the other day i went eat nasi ayam penyet at one of the shops at nagoya hill mall......the portion was like sick man.....it was as if you on diet liddat sia.....if i'm not wrong the shop was called rice tower or something..........you wan eat bakso and nasi padang you go to one of those shop houses near nagoya hill mall there......

  batam is a havem for singaporean old men.. their weekend / second wife.
  
  many men spend the weekend in Batam with these wives. the story goes that these men also has a house in batam-- to house these weekend wives.
  
  many aunties and uncles also go batam to play casino
