although the TS is a spammer spamming china-related threads everywhere and although i personally dislike certain PRC products and quality
it's unfair to just criticise the damaged bridge as "lousy engineering" etc. before even bothering to find out the facts of the matter.

The bridge was allegedly hit by a ship. The ship allegedly hit a supporting structure which caused the bridge to collapse.
It was allegedly an accident, not poor construction.
No matter how much I hate certain PRC products and their quality, there is no need to be barbaric about the whole matter.
Now u can start criticising the ship driver instead. At least that would make more sense.

i have a boat license n i noe the terms, but in layman's english, pilot is usually used onli when referring to planes, looking at how everyone here does not even bother to find out the facts before critisicing, its better to use layman's english to get my meaning across, if not u'd get stupid replies like "boat where got pilot one.."
whereever u go, u have to communicate with pple in a way that they can understand, the whole point is getting the message and meaning across clearly, not about who's correct or wrong. -
One of the reasons for building this bridge was to shave off a quarter of the time needed to travel between Shanghai and Hangzhou (two of the most vibrant economies in the PRC). Its therefore not without a valid reason for this showy piece of work.
If the country can build the longest wall eons ago, its in their blood to build the longest bridge. -

PRC is developing rapidly and making great economic strides. The 36km bridge is one show of its ambition. The US lackeys should starting switch sides. This is a good time to be a Zhong Guo Ren.
